跟老金“升华”口语之托福独立口语亦积累
有些同学长期困于这样一种paradox:
我的词汇量不是一般地多,像是deficiency、prohibitively、inanity、allegation…,我都背得滚瓜烂熟,完全不在话下。可一到说口语就傻眼了,为啥?这些词儿适合在口语中用吗?不用吧,感觉自己说得英语太low;要是用了这些词儿,说话的内容也就得跟着变深邃咯。可问题是,我没办法在15秒准备时间把自己弄成叔本华或汉娜阿伦特吧?哎~纠结!
那到底怎么搞,才能让ETS听了我的口语,既不觉得我酸腐,又愿意给我高分呢?
今儿咱一起积累几个漂亮的口语用词,就用他们来点亮你的口语!
1. exchange ideas、interact with、socialize with
“交谈、交往、交际、交流、互动” 这些词儿经常会在口语里出现。可一张口,就只能想到talk to、discuss、communicate。那到底有没有更好的表达方式呢?来,把上面三个词儿积累下去!
ex:
用前:By talking to different people,students will know how to communicate with others.
用后:By interacting and exchanging ideas with different people, students will learn how to socialize with others.
2. get involved in sth
“参与、加入,融入” 用什么来表达?用take part in/participate 总感觉不够劲儿。这时,involve就派上用场啦~
ex:
用前:One year’s working experience will let students take better part in their university life.
用后:One year’s working experience will get students better involved in their university life.
3. allow sb to do sth
一说到“让某人做某事儿”,马上脑海里蹦出一个词儿来,叫let。可大家都用let,这let就显得太过平庸了。怎么办?以后想说让某人或使得某人做某事,就用上面的allow!
ex:
用前:Working for a year before entering university may let the students be more independent.
用后:Working for a year before entering university mayallow the students to be more independent.
4. be supposed to do sth
某人需要做某事,某人应该要做某事,最先想到的就是need to do/should do,咱能换成美国人喜欢的这词儿不?
ex:
用前:Students need to get along well with their professors, roommates and classmates.
用后:Students are supposed to get along well with their professors, roommates, and classmates.
5. Accessories:pretty、actually、basically
最后,再给几个比较不错的点缀副词哈!表示“非常”不要总是very,pretty也很好。而且句子和句子间的过度,不要总是because, you know;多用用actually、basically哈!

Task2: Do you agree or disagree with the statement that students should work for a year before entering university?
使用后:
I agree with the statement. Because one year’s working experience will get the students better involved in their university life. Actually, in various work places, students are able to encounter different people. By interacting and exchanging ideas with them, students will learn how to socialize with others. This ability is pretty important, because after entering university, students are supposed to get along well with their professors, roommates, and classmates to fit right in their campus life.
Besides, working for a year before entering university may allow the students to be more independent. Basically, they can earn some money in that very year by taking different part-time jobs. With the money, they pay the tuition and housing price and never have to get money from parents. So they can be more independent.
使用前:
I agree with the statement. Because one year’s working experience will let students take part in their university life. Because in different work places, students can see different people. By talking to them, students will know how to communicate with others. And this kind of ability is important, because after they enter university, students need to communicate with their professors,
