P1
1. What will you do when you feel bored?
If I’m bored, it would typically because I'm either doing something very tedious and brainless, or I'm in a situation where I can’t do much. Either way, my solution to alleviating that boredom is usually listening to music. It's really the only thing I can do in those scenarios, and it works pretty well in getting me through that phase.
2. When you were young, what would you do if you felt bored?
Years ago when I was a kid, boredom was usually caused by being told to sit still and unable to do anything, so I'd often end up picking at random things. Bits of thread protruding from my clothes, or patches and the like. Sometimes I’d also daydream and imagine myself to be somewhere else entirely.
3. What kinds of things are boring to you?
Either being forced to sit through some process that I'm not interested in, or doing tedious work that involves a lot of repetition and isn’t intellectually stimulating. For the former, a good example would be back in school and listening to the principle drone on through the PA system.
4. Do you think young people are more likely to get bored?
I suppose really young kids and teenagers may have a shorter attention span, but that typically involves rapidly changing interests. Maybe it could manifest as being more likely to get bored, but I don’t remember that being the case when I was younger. But with greater access to instant gratification, who knows if that'll stay the same.
