Introduction
In an attempt to solve the problem of climbingunemployment rates around the world, some people assert that women, especiallyafter they have been married, should sacrifice their careers for their familiesand resume their traditional roles of both housewife and caretaker. In myopinion, this is utter nonsense because developing one’s talents by working ata job is one of the fundamental human rights enjoyed by both males andfemales..
Main Body 1
In view of the widespread feminism in manycountries, the proposal for women going back to home and doing domestic chorescertainly goes against the grain because it treats females as intellectuallyinferior to males. However, it should be realized that although in general menare physically stronger than women, their mental capacity is by no meansgreater than that of females, which is a fact supported by a growing number ofwomen either holding public offices in government or taking executive positionsin large corporations. By assigning women to their ancient role of taking careof the family, the opportunity to develop their potential abilities and realizetheir social values is largely denied to them. Therefore, the stereotypicalattitude of excluding women from the workforce must be abandoned as an obsoleterelic from the past and a despicable reflection of sexual discrimination.
Main Body 2
Besides, the soaring unemployment rates inmany developed countries and most developing ones should be regarded as achronic and complex social problem of which female participation in paidemployment is anything but the root cause. According to the theories of mostsociologists, the lingering unemployment in recent decades has been, to a largeextent, a combined product of increasing automation in factories and officesand an ongoing economic recession worldwide. In other words, it is theshrinking demand for manual and non-manual labor that has determined theredundancies of many skilled workers and the tightened job markets. Therefore,it is absolutely ridiculous to think that putting women back into the positionof homemakers may serve as a solution to unemployment because more womenstaying at home will increase, rather than decrease, the unemployment rates..
Conclusion
In summary, the suggestion that womenshould give up their jobs to fulfill their domestic duties and reduce worldunemployment is quite illogical and sexually prejudiced. On the contrary, thebest way to fight unemployment is to encourage females to pursue any careerthey are interested in.
