The line graph shows the aggregate amount,measured in percentage,for the historical arrest record of Americans aged twenty-five in 2015,starting from when they were nine years old,for committing non-vehicular illegal activities.
Overall,the chart depicts a steep increase of arrests from the early teenage years and shows some tapering off in the later stages of early adulthood,with a cumulative total showing that one third of Americans had experienced being arrested by the age of twenty-five.
Those arrested from age nine to eleven show an increase from zero percent to three percent,but by the age of thirteen,five percent of Americans(1)had already been arrested.The trend continues a steady and rather steep continuous increase to the age of eighteen,at which point twenty-two percent of Americans(2)had experienced being arrested.Thereafter,the aggregate amount continues to increase,though at a slightly lower rate,so that by the age of twenty-three,thirty percent had been detained by police.By the age of twenty-five however,the accumulative figure had climbed a further three percent.
