科技发展过程中，一些利用科技手段实施的新型犯罪行为也不断出现，尤其是和互联网相关的高科技犯罪，比如网络诈骗等。另一方面，科技也广泛运用在治安管理和刑事侦查等领域，有效地防止和打击了犯罪，比如视频监控、人脸识别、DNA鉴定等技术。总之，科技发展难免会催生出某些新的犯罪行为，但如果我们将科技用于公共安全领域，也能够利用科技减少犯罪。

With the emergence of new forms of criminal activity involving high technology, some people claim that the development of technology has contributed to an increase in crime. However, other people hold a different view, arguing that technology advancement helps to reduce crime.
On the one hand, technology development can encourage crime by providing new opportunities and methods for offenders. Among various types of high-tech crimes, what impacts the public most is perhaps cybercrime, which has been facilitated by the widespread adoption of digital technologies and the internet. For instance, criminals may send fake emails posing as trusted companies, like banks or online stores. These emails contain links to fake websites where users are tricked into providing personal information and transferring money.
On the other hand, some people believe that technology plays an important role in preventing and combating crimes, thus resulting in decreased crime rate. Firstly, advancements in surveillance technology, such as closed-circuit television cameras and facial recognition systems, make it easy to monitor public spaces and prevent criminal behavior. Also, the application of DNA technology and fingerprint identification methods enhances law enforcement’s abilities to solve crimes. These new technologies serve as deterrents to individuals with criminal intent, as they know they cannot evade consequences.
In my opinion, the relationship between technology and crime is complex and multifaceted. While technology can enable new forms of criminal activity, it also strengthens law enforcement's abilities to combat crime, and thus reduce the crime rate. The key lies in striking a balance between utilizing the benefits of technology for crime prevention while addressing the challenges and risks it poses.
