盘点2024年托福学术写作
不知不觉2024年就过完啦，这是充满激情与挑战的一年，不知道同学们带着怎样的新年愿望开启2025年呢？今天送上2024年托福学术写作趋势分析一份，带你掌握规律，有备而来~
1最受欢迎的话题类型：Education
细心的同学会发现，在每一段的Discussion Board的最开始，其实都会标明这个讨论属于什么课堂，也就是大致的话题类型。当然，这些课堂类型中不乏一些小众的学科如health & nutrition，但总体来说，其实都属于以上四个大类（我们把marketing归入了business）。也就是说，从话题类型的角度，教育类的话题依然是最高频的讨论内容，当然，它与其他三个话题的占比其实相差也不是很大，因此我们不能忽视任何一种话题类型。另外，下半年与上半年的话题类型对比如下：
2最受欢迎的提问类型：whether类
除了话题类型这个角度，从教授的提问方式角度考虑，实际上所有的学术讨论问题可以分成三种类型（其实也演变自独立写作时代）：
whether类
如“Whether lecturing is an effective teaching method?”但提问中经常不出现whether这个词，如“Should schools limit the teaching of fictional texts in favor of teaching more practical, nonfiction texts?”，与独立写作时期的agree/disagree题型基本等同。
which类
和上面题型的区别是，它往往有两个并不截然矛盾的比较对象，并且有一个相对明确的目标作为比较标准，如“In your opinion, which is the better strategy for making purchasing decisions, relying on advice from friends and family, or depending on information from online sources?”，与独立写作的二选一一致。
what类（open question）
这类题最大的特点是虽然两位同学分别给出了角度，但也完全可以选择与他们完全无关的角度，是开放式的，如“In your view, what strategy should teachers use to increase high school students' interest in learning?”，这类题演变自独立写作中的三选一题型，但由于形式的变化，给同学们提供了更自由的发挥空间。

可以看出，其实与独立写作时代的分布类似，whether型的题目占据一半以上。二上下半年的变化则是：
可以看出，这个比例分布总体是稳定的，但whether类的下半年略有减少。
3最受欢迎的题目
在2024年，最受出题官青睐的是以下这道题目，分别在8月26日、9月8日和12月8日考察了三次：
Some people think schools should spend more money on school teachers’ salaries because it would attract more qualified individuals to the profession. On the other hand, others believe that the money should be allocated towards additional resources such as books and computers. Which viewpoint do you agree with and why?
另外，同一年内考察了两次题目有：
9月4日，9月8日
In your opinion, should governments regulate social media platforms, or should social media companies regulate their platforms themselves?
7月6日、9月22日
Do you believe that governments should provide financial support to artists, for example, painters, sculptures, musicians, or filmmakers?
7月21日、12月14日

4.最奇葩的题目
在2024年，学术写作的题库又加入了很多新题目，其中有几道题被同学们评价为“完全想不到”：
7月10日
Having many possessions can actually decrease the quality of life. Do you agree or disagree?
7月24日
Do you think the increased competition between privately owned residences and traditional hotels is a positive trend? Why or why not?
7月21日、12月14日
Criteria for promotion may include employees performance and achievements in their current roles, seniority within the company, years of experience in the field, or even leadership potential. In today’s post, I would like you to discuss which criteria for promotion you see as the most important and explain why.
其中最后一道题我们可以特别关注一下，因为它不仅在半年里考察了两次，而且与一道下半年的口语题也高度相似：
11月9日 口语Task 1
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important factor to consider for a company to promote employees is their years of work experience. Use details and examples to explain your preference.
趋势和寄语
总结而言，托福学术写作板块，四大话题的分布相对平均，教育类虽略多，但其他几个类型也不容忽视，尤其一些较为新颖的出题角度，需要同学们平时多关注多思考。
提问类型方面，open question的比例略有上升，结合独立写作时代三选一的比重在后期其实一直是上升趋势，可以预见开放问题的重要性可能会继续缓慢地增加。同学们在练习中可以适当地将更多这种题型纳入视野。
