3. This requires a lot of initial energy and speed up to over 9 km per second.

Dr. Gupta
The challenges of childcare can make working life so difficult that it causes valuable employees to quit their jobs. What is one way to make the lives of working parents easier?
Paul
The most helpful thing for a working parent is a flexible schedule.
Claire
I think the best approach is for governments to offer working parents financial assistance for childcare or education expenses.

Dr. Gupta
Some parents now use a mobile application (an app) that can track their teenage children's location using mobile phones or other devices. Is it a good idea for parents to track their teenage children’s location? Why or why not?
Paul
I think using tracking apps is a good idea. There is more of a need in today's world for parents to know exactly where their children are.
Kelly
I think reliance on those types of devices makes teens less independent.
Paul
1. Firstly, tracking can help ensure the safety of teenagers, especially in emergencies.
2. Secondly, when teenagers know they are being tracked, they may be more mindful of their actions and avoid risky behaviors.
Kelly
1. Firstly, racking can make teenagers feel like their privacy is being violated, which may lead to resentment between them and their parents.
2. Secondly, over-monitoring can prevent teenagers from developing decision-making skills being independent.

Dr. Gupta
Some people propose that governments should consider offering special funding to support this age group so that they can use the funds to experience a variety of cultural, artistic and musical activities. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?
Claire
I don’t think it’s a good idea, because young adults might spend the government’s money on events related to their friends only.
Paul
Band live shows are a good way to experience culture and art.
I agree with Claire that supporting young adults with government funds for cultural events is a risky choice. Firstly, there’s a concern that funds could be used for popular entertainment rather than real culture events. For example, if young people can freely choose to attend their idol’s live performance with the fund, it would be unimaginable for them to broaden their horizons in such an event. Secondly, without proper guidelines, these people may only attend events that they are already familiar with. In this way, they may just ignore cultures and arts that they are not interested in, and the government project will fail to reach its goal. To solve these issues, we could implement guidelines to ensure that students will explore a diverse range of cultural and art events, so that the government funds will be spent wisely and effectively.
I agree with Paul’s view that band live shows offer a rich cultural and artistic experience. Firstly, live music is a vivid expression of contemporary culture, allowing young adults to engage with the creativity and emotions inherent in the performance. It's an attractive experience that can cultivate a deeper appreciation for music and its cultural significance. Secondly, these events often show a variety of artistic elements, including stage design, lighting, and the interaction between performers and audience, which can broaden young adults' mind on what actually makes art. By participating in such events, young adults can indeed learn and grow, enhancing their knowledge about cultures and art appreciation skills.
2.Speaking
第一套
Task 1
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? Preserving the environment is the responsibility of the government of each country.
I agree that it is the governments’ responsibility to protect the environment. First, governments possess the authority to create and enforce laws that address environmental problems. For instance, they can impose fines on polluters, mandate emission reductions, and establish protected areas. Second, governments can allocate significant funding and resources to large-scale environmental projects. For example, many countries invest in renewable energy infrastructure, such as solar or wind farms, and subsidize eco-friendly technologies like electric vehicles. While individuals and businesses should also contribute, only governments have the power to coordinate nationwide efforts and ensure implementation through policy.
Task 2
Computer repair center should be open later
Task 3
Adjustable group size
Task 4
Two advantages of the new technique for creating maps of archaeological sites
第二套
Task 1
Do you agree or disagree with the statement that children should be required to help with household tasks as soon as they are old enough to do so?Please use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
I agree that it’s necessary to ask children to do household chores. First, doing housework teaches them important life skills that better prepare them for adulthood. For example, when children help with cooking or cleaning, they learn how to take care of themselves and their surroundings, which helps them to be independent later in life. Second, contributing to household tasks fosters a sense of responsibility in children. When they are involved in the upkeep of the house, they learn to value and care for the things around them. For instance, if a child is responsible for cleaning the floor, she begins to understand the importance of not littering. Such understanding is transferable to other aspects in their lives, such as learning and working.
Task 2
Cancellation of poetry class
Task 3
Startle defense
Task 4
Two key advantages of data collection
第三套
Task 1
If you have a misunderstanding with your friend, do you prefer talking it out in public like a restaurant or in a private place?
I would prefer to solve our misunderstanding in a private place rather than in public. First, a private setting, such as our home, provides a quiet environment suitable for solving conflicts in friendships. I can express my feelings freely with the other one giving full attention. However, if we are in a restaurant, for example, our communication is likely to be constantly interrupted. Second, talking in private helps maintain privacy and respect. Misunderstandings can sometimes involve sensitive topics, and addressing them in public, like a restaurant, might make my friend uncomfortable or embarrassed as our conversation may be overheard by others. This will prevent us from being totally honest, and so is definitely negative in resolving misunderstanding.
