The phenomenon about whether celebrities set a bad example for young people triggers heated debate among the general public. Arguments are varied thanks to the apparent differences that exist in the values. From my perspective, I tend to believe this is detrimental to young people, who tend to focus on celebrities glamour and wealth rather than their achievements.
To begin with, celebrities have a significant impact on the appearance and clothing of young people. Nowadays, the appearance and clothing of celebrities are very popular among the younger generation. Celebrities also shape and influence fashion trends, encouraging young people to keep up with the latest fashion trends, which may cause young people to worry about their appearance. However, the fashion trend will not last forever, and it has no positive effect on young people in essence. These young followers may therefore ignore the promotion of their own intrinsic value, such as the desire for knowledge, responsibility for others and contributions to society.

Moreover，young people are undergoing an important period of growth, during which they are susceptible to external influences. Role models have a powerful impact on how they view the world and the formation of their values. Due to the luxurious lifestyle of many celebrities, young people who worship celebrities are likely to associate the value of life with money.Ultimately, it leads to young people becoming addicted to money and eager for success and profit, which has had a negative impact on the thoughts and beliefs of young people.Therefore, many teenagers nowadays only seek overnight fame and wealth, and are averse to learning.
In short, although it is unreasonable to prohibit young people from completely following celebrities, we must be aware of the harmful effects of beautifying idols and teach our young people to control their enthusiasm and become calm fans.
