Some people believe the purpose of education is to prepare individuals to be useful to society. Others say that the purpose of education is to achieve personal ambitions. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

教育的目的是为社会培养人才，也使得人们获得个人的成功。人们通过接受教育学到知识和技能，形成正确的价值观，并且运用所学的东西服务社会，成为对社会有用的人。在这个过程当中，人们也发挥出自己的潜能，实现自己的人生抱负。

The purpose of education is difficult to define and people from different backgrounds may have varying opinions about this issue.
Some people believe that the primary purpose of education is to prepare qualified individuals who can contribute to the advancement of society. Education equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become professionals capable of benefiting society. For instance, a government official can serve the public with their expertise in the public service. Similarly, a skilled doctor can save lives and improve public health. Therefore, education prepares individuals to be valuable assets to society by enabling them to fulfill essential roles and address societal needs.
However, some people argue that, from the perspective of students, the purpose of education is to achieve their personal ambitions or realize their own dreams. With this belief in their minds, individuals are more likely to be self-motivated in their study. They tend to set ambitious goals for themselves, work diligently to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills, and overcome challenges with a resilient spirit. When education encourages personal success, individuals can bring their potential into full play.
In my opinion, education should serve both purposes: the prosperity of society and the fulfillment of personal ambitions. If we only focus on the benefits that education can bring to society, individuals may lose their motivation to study. On the other hand, it is also incorrect for individuals to neglect their social responsibility. Without dedication and commitment to the well-being of all members of society, the products of education would be selfish professionals with qualifications.
