解题思路

本题难点在于理解最后的问题“What percent of Bob’s net worth is the combined net worth of Alice and Charles?”到底在问谁是谁的百分之多少。

我们课上反复强调过What percent of M is N, 问的是N是M的百分之多少。
What percent = N/M因此What percent of Bob’s net worth is the combined net worth of Alice and Charles?问的是Alice 与Charles总共的净值是Bob 净值的百分之多少What percent = (Alice + Charles)/Bob
为了方便表达，我们把Alice的净值设为A，Bob的净值设为B，Charles的净值设为C, 题干问的what percent设为x。
根据题干信息可知

Alice’s net worth is 50 percent of Bob’s net worth : A=0.5B

Bob’s net worth is 160 percent of Charles’s net worth : B=1.6C 即C=0.625B

What percent of Bob’s net worth is the combined net worth of Alice and Charles：

x*B=A+C = 0.5B+0.625B= 1.125B

x=1.125 = 112.5%
